Which do you want first? Here's a piece of good news: I woke up this morning and my throat only hurt a little bit. I was sure that our prayers had been answered!
Then I went to a school and, just to be safe, popped into the nurse's office to have her look at it. I wish you could have seen her look of disgust. She told me that there was a possibility that it was strep and that I needed to have it swabbed.
So during a lunch meeting with my 1st grade team and the principal, I announced my dilemma. The other teachers agreed to take my kids for the afternoon while I went to the doctor.
I got my kids inside after lunch, tried to explain to them what was going on and left for urgent care. I was there for 2 hours and was told that I most definitely have strep throat. Great, huh?
The doctor also told me that I could go back to school tomorrow. My school nurse said I can not.
I hurried to the pharmacy to get my antibiotic and then hurried back to school to make up sub plans. Everyone else hurried me to get myself and my germs out of there...
I am thankful that I now know what is wrong and am working to get it fixed. Please pray for me and my kids tomorrow. For me, that I would have a restful, peaceful day and that my kids would be nice to the sub and learn something, too.
One more piece of good news: You can't get strep throat from reading my blog!

But can I get it by leaving a comment?? I hate to say it, but I knew yesterday that you had strep and I didn't even look in your throat! Get rest, don't worry, and get better!
I am so glad that you had your throat checked and you are getting it taken care of. I am also glad that the school nurse told you NO! Get some rest today and know that you and your students are being blanketed by Prayer!
